Q: My dishes are looking streaky and cloudy. What can I do?
A: We suggest using distilled vinegar as your rinse agent to help with this.

I was so excited when I heard Earthley was coming out with non toxic home care line! Knowing that I can have my dishes washed without them smelling like chemicals. Ugh I can’t stand store brand dishwasher detergent for that very reason. This product takes care of the nasty chemical smell but leaves a thick white residue on the dishes. Even with a rinse aide. It also does not get the dishes clean if they have the tiniest bit of food on them. We rinse our dishes before we put them in the dishwasher but food can get missed. I’m really sad it’s not working for us because I really wanted this to work. We had to go back to store brand because at least it gets our dishes clean

I thought it didn’t work because I was following the instructions. Did 3 washes and was so frustrated with the film on all of my dishes and how they were pretty much all still dirty. Thought it was a bust. I had the vinegar rinse and everything. BUT I decided to give it one more chance and fill up my detergent slot instead of following the instructions for only 1tbsp. I kinda thought that it might be counterproductive to add more since it was leaving a film, but thought might as well try it…. It worked!! I’ve used it for about 4 loads since then and my dishes come out sparkling clean! So I suggest doing 2 tbsp at least! I also have been doing all my loads on “Heavy”.

I’m surprised to see so many good reviews, but happy that others had success! I have used this twice and both times many of my dishes came out quite dirty. I really wanted to love this stuff but it just doesn’t cut it! I basically have to scrub all my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.

I really wanted to love this, and I love all the other cleaning products from Earthley, but this sadly did not work for me. It left a white residue on all my dishes, and didn’t fully clean all my dishes even though I hand-scrubbed before using the dishwasher. I used the high temperature setting and a vinegar rinse, which has helped others have success, but it did not work for me. We have hard water with a water softener system, so perhaps that affects it. I won’t be reordering this product, but definitely reordering all the other Earthley cleaning products.

This dishwasher detergent works so good that it even cleaned the dishwasher itself! Because it does this, I recommend making sure your dishwasher’s filter is cleaned out before use and maybe running a cycle or two just to clean it out before use. It scrubs pans that would have taken some serious elbow grease to clean, leaving them incredibly shiny and smooth (as long as you stack it right so the water can reach it)! The dishes dry quickly and leave very little water spots, if any at all! This is a high quality product and I am super excited to get rid of the other stuff!

This detergent works great! Everything is clean, shiny, no food particles left, and no cloudy film on the dishes. It only takes one tablespoon. I rinse big crumbs and dressings off the plates, but you can still tell they are dirty when they go in the dishwasher. I’m totally impressed with how clean everything is after every load.

I am glad Earthley has moved into making home products! I love that this doesn’t have all the nasty ingredients most other detergents have. I see people had great luck with this detergent but I can’t say the same. For the most part my dishes came out fairly clean with the exception of a few very dirty dishes I purposely left that way to see how clean they would come out. I also noticed a film on some of my dishes. I just rinsed them off under the faucet while unloading. I think this is a product that you just have to try out and see if it works for you!
