FAQs

Q: Do I take this daily, or just during my cycle?

A: We recommend taking it 2 – 3 days before your expected period and through the first few days if you experience a lot of cramps or pain.  If cramps are milder, it can be taken as needed (including for ovulation pain).

Q: What if my cycle is irregular and I don’t know when my period will start? When should I start taking it? Will it still be beneficial if I don’t start until my period does?

A: You can start taking this as soon as you are experiencing PMS symptoms (bloating, cramping, night sweats, cravings), even if your period may not start for several days.  Some of these herbs were historically used to bring on menstruation in women who experienced hormonal imbalances.  If you don’t start it until you begin bleeding, it is still beneficial, but may take longer to reduce cramps.

Q: Can this reduce heavy bleeding, or just cramps?

A: Many women do experience lighter bleeding while taking this.  Vitamin K-rich herbs support blood health and normal clotting, which can reduce excessive bleeding.

Q: Can this help with PMS?

A: Yes!  Many women experience a more even mood, fewer cravings, and better sleep while using it.

Q: Can teenagers or tweens use this?

A: Yes!  Girls and young women who are cycling — or are in puberty and may be close — can use this.

Q: Can I take this for headaches or other types of pain?

A: You can!  It may or may not be the right remedy, depending on the underlying reason for the headache.  Check out “A Guide to Headaches” to help you find the right remedy.

Q: Can I take this during labor?

A: Yes!  We don’t recommend it earlier in pregnancy due to the potential of bringing on contractions — but that’s not a concern during labor!  It may help to ease labor pains and make contractions more efficient.

Q: Can this help with pain after a miscarriage?

A: Yes, it can help ease heavy bleeding and physical pain.  We are sorry for your loss!

I won’t have a period without this! I start taking it a couple days before my period starts and keep taking it all the way through. My cramps have gone down a lot! I can feel a difference in cramps and mood. If I forget to start taking it early, I notice. I’m a huge fan!

  2. Hannah (verified owner)

I only recently got this tincture, but wow is it amazing! I deal with bad cramps the first 1-2 days of my period and typically can do nothing but lay in bed all day. The last 2 months while using this tincture on my period I’ve had little to no cramps and can even go to work while on the first day of my period! This tincture has been a life saver and I will ALWAYS have it on hand from now on!

  3. Victoria

Not just for period pain! I uses this when postpartum cramps started and this is a miracle worker. My cramps literally made me want to throw up because they were so intense. This stuff made them feel like a dull ache!

  4. Jasmine w. (verified owner)

The best thing I’ve used for cramps!! I stay stocked!

  5. Monica Davis (verified owner)

I highly recommend ease the ache. I got fibroids removed last summer and my periods have been different. Cramps have become more painful, with them radiating through my anal canal. It’s like an endo flare, but with a continuous dull pain that lasts for hours. So uncomfortable! When I take this, my cramps are non existent! I’m also a combo girl so combining this with the lunamore tincture is an added bonus.

Here’s an utterly honest review. I have sever endometriosis which results is debilitating cramps and all other pms symptoms are extremely exacerbated. I actually messaged the company privately after my first cycle using this product because I was amazed. I started taking it as directed, about four days before my period began and through out my cycle. I tend to get extremely tender breasts, to the point where I can’t lay on my stomach or jump. I wear two bras to help keep them secure and avoid movement. I noticed a significant change in that after using this product. But my cramps…I can’t explain how thankful I am to have found this. I feel like I can finally control my cramps rather than them controlling me. My period has dictating so much of my life. I literally planned my wedding around my period so that I knew I would be able to function. If only I had found this sooner. I have owned this for close to a year now, I believe. I have not missed work due to my cycle, I have not missed out on social events, I have not missed life. I do still take 1 or 2 naproxen (strong anti- inflammatory) on my toughest day, but that’s it! I used to take 6-8 naproxen throughout my entire 6 day cycle, every month. I am looking forward to trying the anti-inflammatory tincture in hopes of cutting naproxen out entirely.
I use the alcohol base “ease the ache”. The taste is not great but the effect is worth it. I’m not sure what the difference is between the alcohol vs non alcohol. I think the non alcohol may have a better taste but I don’t want to mess up a good thing lol. When I find something that works the way this does, it could taste like burnt dog poop…I’d take it!

If you struggle with menstrual cramps, just try this. Be consistent with it and I promise you will notice change. I am truly eternally grateful to this company. I have a nice little earthley collection going in my cabinet and I love them all but this particular tincture has honestly changed my life.

    THANK YOU, EARTHLEY!!

  7. Christy (verified owner)

I normally have very severe cramps during my period, to the point that I often have to leave work and rest at home. When I start taking this 2-3 days before my period starts, it relieves my symptoms significantly! I have recommended this to lots of friends already, and will always keep some in my medicine cabinet.

  8. Christin (verified owner)

Helps a lot with cramping overall, especially if you remember to start taking it a couple days before your period starts. It’s a bit spicy, but I’m a wimp. I always use it, but when cramps get severe and I don’t have time to lay with the heating pad, I sometimes have to cave and take an ibuprofen.

  9. Abigail (verified owner)

After three cycles of using Ease the Ache, it’s clear to me that it makes a significant difference in reducing cramping pain as well as others of my typical menstrual side effects. Usually I am very dependent on heating pads and pain relievers for a couple of days, but I have been SO much more comfortable and without turning to pharmaceuticals. I also love knowing these herbs are working to support my whole body and benefitting other things at the same time! I will definitely make sure this is always in stock at my house.

  10. Jess (verified owner)

I get severe cramps due to endometriosis. I used this last month and it took the edge off nearly right away. they came back a few hours later and I took another dose. This month I am going to start taking it a few days early as recommended to see if that helps even more. I definitely recommend.

  11. Peas

This tincture is amazing! I used to use it myself but when my period stopped giving me any issues and was quick and painless I felt like I didn’t need to use it anymore. Well, when my daughter got her first period I was so upset that I didn’t have this in the house! I had many of the dried herbs and made her teas but it wasn’t the same. I immediately ordered it and gave it to her for a bit and then when her second period came it went so much smoother. Shorter and painless for her! Thank you Earthley!

  12. grace.blessingsabound (verified owner)

Wow. I’m shocked at this result. My cycle typically goes a full 7 days and usually not completely over until day 8. This last cycle I took this daily and started it a few days before when I felt my temperature rise. I am extremely heavy during the first 3 days of my cycle. I am anemic if I don’t take iron, if that gives any idea of how heavy my flow is. (Started taking Earthley’s iron supp)
This last cycle I was done by day 7! This has not happened ever! Ease the ache helps with not only pain and discomfort during that time, but has helped me have a shorter or maybe normal length cycle. I’m SO thankful for it!

  13. Mercedes Davis (verified owner)

This helps reduce the pain so well! I use it when I’m on my period and when I ovulate (I have extreme pain during ovulation due to cysts). I would recommend this to every girl/woman!!!

  14. JoAnna Jackson (verified owner)

Love this! If used correctly it has helped lessen my cramps and the length of them!!!

  15. Lucy (verified owner)

I’m SO glad I found this Ease the Ache tincture!! it has been a game-changer for me. As someone who often experiences severe cramps I was looking for a natural remedy that could provide relief without any harsh side effects, and nothing worked. This tincture exceeded my expectations. It brought immediate relief!! The drops are easy to take, but it doesn’t taste the best taken by itself, so I usually put it in juice, and can barely taste it.
If you’re searching for a natural solution to alleviate cramps/aches, I highly recommend giving Ease the Ache a try, it worked for me!

  16. Aundrea Parker (verified owner)

My midwives suggested this for the after early postpartum contractions and it helped significantly. I’ve also used it a few times since when I’ve had random uterine cramping and it has helped each time. My period hasn’t returned yet, so haven’t had to use it for the monthly discomfort but I’m sure it will help with that as well.

  17. Carissa Patchey (verified owner)

This stuff really works. I have to use a full dropper to feel it. I tried to do 5-10 drops and it wasn’t enough, but it sure does work!

  18. Rebekah D (verified owner)

I always give this to my friends when they come over and complain about cramps, now they start asking for it lol. Very nice, it helps take the edge off postpartum contractions too.

  19. Rachel (verified owner)

I have AWFUL monthly cycles, to the point that I’ve almost passed out and have actually gotten sick to my stomach. I started taking this during my cycles and there was a HUGE improvement! I didn’t hurt nearly as bad and I felt a lot better just in general instead of being so tired and hormonal.

  20. Alicia M (verified owner)

I have been struggling with intense cramps, my gyno told me to take 600mg of ibuprofen every four hours, starting 2-3 days prior to cramping through until my cramps generally stop (2-3days during). That’s A LOT, so I decided to try this. Now I take maybe 9 ibuprofen in total. Which is great! Super happy with my purchase. I even bought my sister some to try.
