This is a wonderful shampoo bar! My daughter had a shampoo/ conditioner build up on her scalp. She has very thick hair and a hard time rinsing all the soap off. We’d been using a liquid popular brand. She started using this and the build up was gone after a week or so. We ran out and she started using the rest of the old liquid shampoo and now the build up is back! :/ We’ll be going back to this shampoo bar and will never stray again! 😉

My husband loves this shampoo bar and I love the smell of it! 🙂 The best way to use it slowly is to get the shampoo bar a little bit wet and rub the bar directly onto your hair and then place the bar back into an area it can air dry. Then you can lather the shampoo in your hair without lathering up the actual bar! This has worked great and my husband likes the feeling of his hair as well. I have used this but my hair doesn’t get completely clean because we have such hard water. I do love the smell of it though and it’s perfect for my husband and cleaning his short hair! Haven’t noticed any hair growth though after using for 4+months.

I have mixed feelings on the shampoo bar. First, I love the smell! It’s also surprisingly easy to lather on and makes about half my hair look clean… but then the other half very grimey and full of residue. :/ I’ve been trying the bar for a couple months now and have tried to make it work. With the ACV rinse – it helps make it less full of residue, but it definitely is still there. I tried combining it with the leave in conditioner and it almost made it more grimey. I haven’t been able to find the sweet spot still. I have noticed if I really really take my time rinsing my hair before and after applying, it helps, but unfortunately not completely :/ I have semi thin hair, so maybe it’s just me. I really wanted to make it work, but it’s just not working for me. Just wish it didn’t require too much hassle. But love the smell and think Earthley is on to something great, just could use a little work. I wish this could be a liquid shampoo as well!

I have thin, dryyyyy hair. Struggle with breakage, especially during pregnancy and postpartum. I was hoping that going all natural would help, but I’m not sure I can stick it out with this product. I’ve used it for 4 washes. My hair feels as though it’s coated in wax, and because it’s sticky, it seems to tangle even more easily. It also frizzes out and is static-y when I brush it There are white flakes (whether it’s dandruff or residue from the product is TBD). I want to give this product a full month (maybe the waxy feel is just the way hair normally feels without all the products coating/stripping it?), but I’m sorely disappointed right now.

This is the only Earthley product so far that I’m not crazy about. Compared to all the other natural shampoos I’ve used, it’s had the worst results. Maybe it’s just not meant for my hair type, but it leaves my hair feeling even more stripped and dry than sulfate shampoos. I love the smell, I love the feel, I love that it’s a bar, I just don’t love the results. Wish there were other options, maybe categorized by what hair type they’re most suited for.

would definitely buy again! there is definitely a transition period of greasy hair immediately after the switch, which is just the shampoo bar stripping the harsh chemicals from your hair and your hair getting used to being cleansed without them. once you get past that it’s great! i have naturally curly hair (2c-3a) and i did notice it doesn’t really help my curls a lot, but i can just add a moisturizer afterward and it’s not bad at all!!

This bar works great for my husband and kids. I tried it for a week or two and it really didn’t work for me. I have straight hair that is more sensitive to oil (fine). I do not overwash my hair. It left my hair looking clumpy and oily. Though, when I blow dried my hair it looked fine. I may give it another go. Part of it could be postpartum. I have struggled with hairless too.

I was sooo excited for a natural shampoo bar, but realized very quickly this bar would not work for me 🙁 though it smells amazing (and makes my whole bathroom smell good) it was not working for my naturally straight hair at all. Though getting hair used to different shampoos takes time, I didn’t like it looking unwashed in that transition time. This bar shampoo left my hair feeling waxy, separating into almost dread type twists, and left a weird sticky feeling on my comb after brushing. It also knotted very easily even with conditioner. One night I washed my hair before bed, and the very next morning it already looked oily and gross. Overall it did not make my hair look or feel clean. Super bummed.

I give this shampoo bar three stars not because it was bad, but because it’s most likely not the best fix for oily hair. I love Earthley and it is my favorite brand! When I discovered that this shampoo bar was a bit heavy on my oily hair, I ordered the 3-in-1 Spring Blossoms Soap and it worked perfectly. So just a heads up that if you have oily hair, try the 3-in-1 soap instead!! Favorite company ever!
