Description

Are you experiencing impaired wound healing, hair or bone loss, frequent illnesses, or infections? Maybe you’re feeling anxious, depressed, tired, or fatigued – if so, you may have a vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D Cream combines five ingredients to form a lotion rich in vitamins A and D (and some K2). Studies show that vitamin D is absorbed nearly eight times better topically than orally – making topical vitamin D a perfect, natural way to get the nourishment you need without the taste you don’t want.

  • Contrary to its name, vitamin D is not a vitamin; it’s a pre-hormone that helps regulate many of your body’s hormones. It’s often promoted as “for strong bones,” which is true, but vitamin D is so much more than that! Vitamin D is needed for muscle movement, balancing blood sugar, controlling inflammation, supporting the immune system, and even helping the body absorb calcium.

Unfortunately, vitamin D deficiencies are extremely common these days and stem from environmental toxicity and the lack of sun exposure. While many opt for vitamin D pills, we decided to go another route and created Vitamin D Cream.

Our natural Vitamin D Cream is a cod liver oil base containing vitamins A and D (and some K2). The fat-soluble vitamins are balanced so the body can use them easily and effectively. Many people shy away from the taste of cod liver oil and have difficulty taking it. This cream is a topical solution!

FAQs

Q: Who can safely use Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream is safe for anyone all ages and stages of life, including while pregnant and breastfeeding. The ingredients in Vitamin D Cream are even safe to use on dogs.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has much lower vitamin D than oral supplements; why?

A: We don’t normally recommend high-dose supplementation because the body can only absorb so much at once. Most conventional supplements are filled with mega-dosed synthetic formulas and are harder to absorb. Contrarily, studies have found topical vitamin D is absorbed best.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has more vitamin A than vitamin D; why is that?

A: The natural source used to make our Vitamin D Cream just so happens to be high in vitamin A as well.

Q: What does Vitamin D Cream smell like?

A: Some people find Vitamin D Cream has no smell, some find it smells strongly of fish, and others find it varies from batch to batch. If you find the smell of Vitamin D Cream unpleasant, you can melt it down and add essential oils to mask the smell. If you add essential oils, we recommend avoiding citrus essential oils to avoid phototoxicity.

Q: How should I apply Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream can be applied anytime, even before sun exposure. Simply rub 1/2 – 1 teaspoon on the thighs, stomach, or other fat-rich body parts.

Q: How should store Vitamin D Cream?

A: We recommend storing Vitamin D Cream in a cool, dark place. Some people store it in the refrigerator, but it becomes a very firm consistency due to the cold temperature.

Q: I bought Vitamin D Cream, and there are little beads in it; is that normal?

A: Yes. The white beads are stearic acid, a naturally-occurring fatty acid found in several butters and oils. When we make products, we heat them to a certain temperature, blend them, then rapidly cool them. If it cools too slowly or melts in transit and slowly cools again, the stearic acid can form into small to medium white beads. To fix this, you can remelt the product, stir it, and then rapidly cool it in the fridge.

I liked the option for a Vitamin D cream over the store- bought drops. I Didn’t mind the smell so much, but has a very greasy feel that I didn’t entirely love.

  2. maryymadisonn (verified owner)

I personally love this cream. I apply to my butt cheeks at night and wear full underwear that I don’t care about (it can stain). I really never noticed an overly fishy smell. I also love how hydrating it is. It’s helping to soften up some calloused spots I have on my ankles from work and has definitely helped lighten/prevent a large scar from forming on my daughters forehead.

  3. Priscilla (verified owner)

I use this on my baby’s bum every night. I feel so much better using something natural rather than the drops sold in stores. It’s stinky (sourced from fish) but under a diaper it won’t get on clothing. I have a friend who used this before and after bloodwork. She showed me how her vitamin D levels reached optimal levels with nightly use over time!

  4. alfordrebekah (verified owner)

My husband loves it… I do not. I can’t get over the smell of fish on our clothing. Even if he waits to put clothes on, it still sticks. I wanted to like this soooo bad but I think for our family we’ll have to do Vitamin D another way.

  5. Anya (verified owner)

I love this alternative for vitamin D. I can’t take cod liver internally due to mcas so this is awesome!

  6. Kayla Bernardez (verified owner)

I got this because I had bloodwork come back showing I was significantly deficient in vitamin D. After researching supplements, I decided I wasn’t comfortable taking the traditional vitamin D supplements. I also read that using vitamin D topically is a lot more effective than taking it orally. I feel comfortable with this product because it uses a whole food source of vitamin D (cod liver oil) as its main ingredient. It doesn’t smell the best (because cod liver oil) but it doesn’t bother me. I plan to use this instead of an oral vitamin D supplement when my new baby arrives in January.

  7. Jessica (verified owner)

While the smell isn’t great, I don’t mind it if it works. This is the second or third container we bought, and this time it is very gritty and doesn’t seem like the last batch or two we had previously.

  8. Felicia Bristol (verified owner)

Use this daily for myself and my 3 kids. Also, use it in place of the typical vit D drops for the newborn phase.

  9. Adela (verified owner)

I was very happy to see a lotion option for Vitamin D. My toddler isn’t a fan of taking anything orally and without much sunlight this is a must in colder seasons. Smell is definitely not pleasant, but we choose our battles and it’s either no Vitamin D or apply it, laugh at the stink and get the benefits.

  10. Riane Nelson (verified owner)

I love this for my kiddos goodnight routine! I don’t even notice the smell, but I do well with ignoring smells, so take that as you will. My kid hasn’t gotten sick once since I started using it every night after his bath. What I love most is that this is a topical form, making it easy to apply on any age! Oral supplements/tinctures can be difficult for toddlers and babies!

  11. Robbie (verified owner)

Not a fan of the smell, but it’s ideal for my kids and a great alternative to vitamin D supplements throughout the winter.

  12. Lexi Korte (verified owner)

    LOVE this stuff!
Easy to apply, and safe to use on my babies

  13. Steffanie Thomas (verified owner)

I do not take synthetic vitamins. Vitamin d supplements can be dangerous. Yet so many people have low levels. So I was happy to find this natural way to increase vitamin d levels! I use it everyday during the fall/winter & love it.

  14. Erika (verified owner)

I bought this for my husband and he puts it on daily. He also puts it on in the summer before going swimming. I would say he loves it since he has been consistently using it! Easy to apply.

  15. JR (verified owner)

Great for my kids during winter time!

I love Earthley products but this one was a miss for me. The vitamin D cream smelled like rancid fish. When I would put it on my kids belly, it would make his clothes smell like fish too, even after washing. I ended up throwing this away. Too bad, because I really do like their other products.

  18. Jessica

Apparently some batches are very fishy and others aren’t. I read reviews and hoped mine wouldn’t be, but I gagged when I opened it. It smells soooo bad. I can’t use it and definitely want my money back. This stuff shouldn’t be sold.

  19. Monica (verified owner)

I’m very sensitive to vitamin D but usually I can take 10k IU a day of the pill and feel like nothing really. This stuff I use a small dab and I Feel it. I’m very sensitive to it so I have to use even less. I know it’s doing something because sometimes I even get nauseous using it so had to use less. The reason I want to leave this review tho is because my hubby broke his foot to the point that it shattered a section of his feet. His feet were not healing correctly or very much at all after 9mo so I bought this hoping it may help some. He started to place it directly on the foot where it was broken and after 1mo he had X-rays done and it started to heal finally! He also takes 10k IU of pills too. The combo of both maybe is what helped but nothing was really happening in the healing process until we started using this. Now a full year later his foot is almost healed.

Unfortunately, a miss for me. I either don’t absorb it well, or it’s not a high enough dose for me personally. I typically take 10000ius a day to keep my number near normal. Using this just one month dropped my D level 7 points to 29.
