Description

Are you experiencing impaired wound healing, hair or bone loss, frequent illnesses, or infections? Maybe you’re feeling anxious, depressed, tired, or fatigued – if so, you may have a vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D Cream combines five ingredients to form a lotion rich in vitamins A and D (and some K2). Studies show that vitamin D is absorbed nearly eight times better topically than orally – making topical vitamin D a perfect, natural way to get the nourishment you need without the taste you don’t want.

  • Contrary to its name, vitamin D is not a vitamin; it’s a pre-hormone that helps regulate many of your body’s hormones. It’s often promoted as “for strong bones,” which is true, but vitamin D is so much more than that! Vitamin D is needed for muscle movement, balancing blood sugar, controlling inflammation, supporting the immune system, and even helping the body absorb calcium.

Unfortunately, vitamin D deficiencies are extremely common these days and stem from environmental toxicity and the lack of sun exposure. While many opt for vitamin D pills, we decided to go another route and created Vitamin D Cream.

Our natural Vitamin D Cream is a cod liver oil base containing vitamins A and D (and some K2). The fat-soluble vitamins are balanced so the body can use them easily and effectively. Many people shy away from the taste of cod liver oil and have difficulty taking it. This cream is a topical solution!

FAQs

Q: Who can safely use Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream is safe for anyone all ages and stages of life, including while pregnant and breastfeeding. The ingredients in Vitamin D Cream are even safe to use on dogs.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has much lower vitamin D than oral supplements; why?

A: We don’t normally recommend high-dose supplementation because the body can only absorb so much at once. Most conventional supplements are filled with mega-dosed synthetic formulas and are harder to absorb. Contrarily, studies have found topical vitamin D is absorbed best.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has more vitamin A than vitamin D; why is that?

A: The natural source used to make our Vitamin D Cream just so happens to be high in vitamin A as well.

Q: What does Vitamin D Cream smell like?

A: Some people find Vitamin D Cream has no smell, some find it smells strongly of fish, and others find it varies from batch to batch. If you find the smell of Vitamin D Cream unpleasant, you can melt it down and add essential oils to mask the smell. If you add essential oils, we recommend avoiding citrus essential oils to avoid phototoxicity.

Q: How should I apply Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream can be applied anytime, even before sun exposure. Simply rub 1/2 – 1 teaspoon on the thighs, stomach, or other fat-rich body parts.

Q: How should store Vitamin D Cream?

A: We recommend storing Vitamin D Cream in a cool, dark place. Some people store it in the refrigerator, but it becomes a very firm consistency due to the cold temperature.

Q: I bought Vitamin D Cream, and there are little beads in it; is that normal?

A: Yes. The white beads are stearic acid, a naturally-occurring fatty acid found in several butters and oils. When we make products, we heat them to a certain temperature, blend them, then rapidly cool them. If it cools too slowly or melts in transit and slowly cools again, the stearic acid can form into small to medium white beads. To fix this, you can remelt the product, stir it, and then rapidly cool it in the fridge.

This vitamin d cream is the bees knees. Unlike regular vit d pills, when I use this cream I feel like I’ve spent the day outside. I can really tell that it’s doing something in my body. As a bonus, the salve itself feels great on my skin – I’ve been using it on my postpartum belly, butt, and thighs and it feels wonderfully nourishing

  2. Carmen (verified owner)

I love this form of Vitamin D. I’d love it even more if this was mixed in with Good Night Lotion (if that’s possible).

  3. Justine Mitchell (verified owner)

I was getting the “February Blues” in January this year – antsy, irritated, and unmotivated. I started using Earthly’s vitamin D cream and drinking more water and within a week’s time, I was feeling better. After 2 weeks, almost normal!

  4. AzSmokeFree (verified owner)

Mine did not smell but is full of lumps that do not smooth out and end up all over the floor.

  5. Jill Stewart (verified owner)

I had the same problem with the smell. As much as I want to use and like it, it is so off-putting. Whats worse is that there isn’t a return policy for situations such as this. This is really quite disappointing as I have loved all the other products I’ve used.

  6. Katie (verified owner)

Unfortunately the smell of this lotion is so strong I can’t use it. When I put it on, all I can smell is fish all day. The amount of vitamin D delivered is also relatively small, so for me, I need to supplement with something in a much higher dose anyway, so it’s not worth smelling like that. I usually really love all of Earthly’s products but just want others to know that they are likely signing up for some strong odors.

We are sorry that you had this experience. We have reviews where people can smell it and others do not. You can always mix in an essential oil until the smell does not bother you anymore. We believe that Vitamin D is best absorbed through the skin, and you may find your levels continue to rise with continued use. If not, you can find our return policy here: https://earthley.com/faq/return-policy/

I ordered this some time ago and wanted to use up some liquid supplements first. Just started it and it’s awful smelling. It doesn’t rub in completely, leaving little tiny lumps of something. And when I try washing it off my hands, it does not wash off eadily taking several washings to remove the waxy feel. Of all the items I’ve tried of Earthley’s this is the first one I don’t like.

  8. Rebecca

This vitamin d cream healed the raw and cheesy-like condition of my baby’s under arm folds. Washing alone and applying earth mama baby balm wasn’t doing much to heal it. I decided to use the yeast salve in case it was yeast, that seemed to start a difference and then from there I applied the vit d cream every time I bathed or washed her armpits. Here we are over a month later and her underarms look healthy! Love it for this and a topical application of vit A and D.

  9. cmdenino (verified owner)

The smell is super strong and for someone who has a vitamin d deficiency and issues with absorbency I though this product would be perfect. But it’s only 150 IU which would mean I’d need to be applying this ALL . DAY . LONG.

  10. Lyndye Steen (verified owner)

I really like this lotion. It’s an easy way to add some Vitamin D to my life. It rubs in really well.

  11. Annette (verified owner)

Better sleep since using this product

  12. annaswerczek (verified owner)

Does this have a smell? yes but it goes on very smooth, and I normally use good night lotion after to mask the smell! My son had a MINOR case of hand foot in mouth which I read can be linked to low levels of vitamin D. I started using this that day and it has cleared up fast with and will be great to have for the winter.

  13. Christina (verified owner)

I apply this to my stomach and I don’t mind smell at all. I feel like it helps and supports my body very well. Easier to use then pills or drops! I like many ideas I read in reviews too so going to try ideas suggested.

  14. Vanesa (verified owner)

This smells so bad! But I love it! I used this on my kids as their vitamin D instead of anything oral since vitamin D absorbs better topically. I put in on the bottom of their feet at night.

  15. Paula (verified owner)

My vitamin D tends to run the lower end of “normal”. I started using this and have been in the middle range when tested. It is very moisturizing, which is helpful in the winter. I have seen where some think it smells fishy. I have a pretty sensitive nose, and I have not picked up on that at all.

  16. Ashley Kats

So many benefits! I apply this on my kids especially during the fall and winter months being in the Midwest. I really feel like it helps. Plus the cream is perfect for my kids since I would never be able to give them cod liver orally. It has a very light fish smell but we use it at night before bed and it’s never bothered us.

  17. crwarner89 (verified owner)

Got this while pregnant cause I was recommend to up my Vit D (it was winter) and used it as often as I remembered, the smell is a little strong. Now that baby is earthside, I use it on her thigh since I’m breastfeeding and again (winter is coming!). Reading the reviews I saw a momma uses it on baby bum and under diaper… genius! I’m going to do that from now on to avoid staining cloths and hid the smell some.

  18. Betsy J (verified owner)

I never expected this to help with menstrual cramps but it sure has!! I apply a pea size amount to my abdomen every evening & cannot believe the significant difference. It smells like cod over oil but it’s not overpowering!

  19. Jerri (verified owner)

I started using this on my knee where I have no cartilage and arthritis and then cover it with a layer of bee venom cream and it has made a huge difference in my arthritis’s knee pain. Covering it with the bee venom I don’t notice a smell.

  20. Emma Ramos (verified owner)

I love being able to use a lotion instead of taking oral supplements or capsules. As someone with sensitive skin, I know good lotion when I meet it.
