Shampoo Bar for Curly Hair is specially formulated to gently cleanse curly and dry hair without stripping natural oils. Curly hair thrives with extra moisture, and our bar delivers it using shea butter, hemp seed oil, and avocado oil. Infused with our Scalp and Skin Essential Oil Blend, it naturally nourishes the scalp while leaving curls soft, defined, and frizz-free. Unlike conventional shampoos that over-cleanse or contain harsh sulfates, this bar provides low-cleansing, high-moisturizing care. Perfect for types 3-4 curls that need extra hydration.

The bar is easy to use. Wet hair, lather in your hands, and apply to hair, working the lather through. Rinse.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Q: I thought soap was bad for hair! Why a shampoo bar?

A: Most shampoos on the market today are harsh detergents. Yes, they clean your hair, but they also strip them of oils and leave endocrine-disrupting chemicals behind. Our soap is specially formulated for hair and will gently clean without these issues. Shampoo bars have been used for decades with good results!

### Q: Is this bar pH balanced?

A: pH balanced usually refers to a neutral pH product (around 7). Our shampoo bars are a 9, which helps to remove dirt, oil, and build up naturally. The extra oils in it help to nourish your hair. A truly natural product will not be "pH balanced" but for good reason!

### Q: Oil in the shampoo bars?! Won't that make my hair greasy?

A: No! Most of the oil is reacted with lye to form soap, which gently cleanses your hair. The small amount of oil leftover helps to keep your hair soft and healthy. If your hair appears greasy or oily after use, it may be due to an adjustment period (the bar first strips off silicones and other mainstream hair care products) or you may benefit from an ACV rinse.

### Q: How do I use a shampoo bar?

A: It's easy! Wet your hair as usual, then lather the bar in your hand. Apply the lather to your hair and work it through. If you have long or thick hair, you may have to lather and apply multiple times. Concentrate on the roots first.

### Q: Are the shampoo bars safe for color treated hair?

A: As far as we know, the shampoo bars are safe for color treated hair. If you notice a change in hair color, discontinue use.

### Q: I'm not sure which shampoo bar to get. What do you suggest?

A: We suggest sticking with the intended purpose of the shampoo bars. For curly hair or dry hair: Curly/Dry Shampoo Bar For oily hair: Oily Shampoo Bar For anything else (or to promote hair growth): Rosemary-Lavender Shampoo Bar

### Q: Why is my hair feel weird now that I've switched to a natural shampoo bar?

A: Switching from conventional to natural shampoos can take some time to transition - the shampoo bar is stripping off the 'junk' conventional products left behind. Your hair will take time to adjust and you may experience some greasiness at first. An ACV rinse can help.

### This soap bar seems to be used up quickly due to being wet. Is there anything I can do?

If the soap bar is constantly wet or soaked in water, it will be used up quickly. We suggest using a [Soap Dish](https://earthley.com/product/wooden-soap-dish/) to help water drain away from it after you are done using it. The drier it stays between uses, the longer it lasts.

### What are soap scraps?

Our 8 oz soap scraps are a weighted 8 ounces with a combination of end pieces, slightly deformed (may have cracks or holes), too thinly sliced pieces, or other shape and size only issues. As a soap, these are all normal quality, they just don't meet the size standards of the 4 oz or other size bars.

We cannot guarantee any sizes or shapes of scrap pieces.
