I’ve been trying this for a week and a half now, wow, very noticeable difference after the first use. Actually as I was washing my hair for the first time with it, I was afraid my hair was going to be incredibly oily and gross as all sort of white (which I assume was some kind of build up from my past traditional shampoo usage) kept coming off of my head in the shower. Thankfully my hair did not feel oily after drying and also that was only a one time ordeal. Ever since my hair has felt noticeably healthier and stronger! Surprised at how well it lathers! A little goes a long way! It smells amazing when applying, but I don’t notice the smell after it’s rinsed out. I will say that I’m used to unnatural commercial products and compared to those, this feels as if it strips your hair of all oils & build-up, which is good but can leave it feeling more dry than I’m used to. I tried with the leave in conditioner and I’m not getting that smooth effect that I like, so I may just use my normal conditioner with it.

I had been using shampoo from the Wellness Box “Melaleuca” previously and my hair always looked greasy the next day and my scalp would itchy like crazy. So itchy, that I would scratch to the point of my scalp bleeding. To be honest I probably never would have tried the shampoo bar had it not accidentally been sent to me instead of the dry shampoo I ordered. I have never been a fan of bar soaps at all. But, I decided to give it a try since I got it for free and why not. I love that it has ingredients that are great for hair growth and it smells good, the lather is better than most non toxic liquid shampoos which is huge. I’ve been using it for a while now and love it! Still shocked that I actually like it and that it’s not more work than liquid at all. I just rub the bar right on my scalp, super easy. My hair is much less greasy, has more shine, and I do feel like it’s helping to grow/repair as I have a lot of pp thinning going on. My hair is naturally very thin, fine, and brittle – I assumed this would gunk it up but it absolutely does not. Definitely recommend, even for anyone who is not so sure they want a bar, I promise you’ll be happy you tried it!

This is a soap bar not a true shampoo bar. There are not any surfactants (substances to truly wash out oil and dirt etc) so unless you have super soft water you will not be able to wash it fully out of your hair and the minerals in your water will bind to the soap and your hair will be left feeling waxy and terrible. I like it as a soap for the rest of my body but definitely not for my hair. So I will keep it for that. I switched to Hibar shampoo bars which do contain surfactants and work great!

I so badly wanted to love this product but I don’t even like it. Prior to using it I was washing my hair once every 5-6 days & figured this could help me reach 7 days. I lasted 2 days the first time I tried it…I figured my scalp was just purging from the change & that I didn’t get all the soap out/used too much of the leave-in-conditioner. The second time I used it, I brushed the “suds” out in the shower. It helped some but still only lasted 3-4 days. The third time I used it, I lathered & rinsed really well along with brushing it thoroughly. 3-4 days later, the same icky results. A couple of days ago I noticed a bunch of white residue on my brushes, I thought it was dust but after brushing my hair tonight I realized it is the wax from the bar of soap! I used 3 different clean brushes & even recorded myself brushing out my hair with the clean brush & revealing what it looked like after brushing. It is definitely wax from the bar of soap, my black brush is almost white from the residue. I’ve gone 2 days with just using “water only” as a way of washing my hair which seems to help but how long it will take to get the last of the wax-soap-residue out.
