Description

Are you experiencing impaired wound healing, hair or bone loss, frequent illnesses, or infections? Maybe you’re feeling anxious, depressed, tired, or fatigued – if so, you may have a vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D Cream combines five ingredients to form a lotion rich in vitamins A and D (and some K2). Studies show that vitamin D is absorbed nearly eight times better topically than orally – making topical vitamin D a perfect, natural way to get the nourishment you need without the taste you don’t want.

  • Contrary to its name, vitamin D is not a vitamin; it’s a pre-hormone that helps regulate many of your body’s hormones. It’s often promoted as “for strong bones,” which is true, but vitamin D is so much more than that! Vitamin D is needed for muscle movement, balancing blood sugar, controlling inflammation, supporting the immune system, and even helping the body absorb calcium.

Unfortunately, vitamin D deficiencies are extremely common these days and stem from environmental toxicity and the lack of sun exposure. While many opt for vitamin D pills, we decided to go another route and created Vitamin D Cream.

Our natural Vitamin D Cream is a cod liver oil base containing vitamins A and D (and some K2). The fat-soluble vitamins are balanced so the body can use them easily and effectively. Many people shy away from the taste of cod liver oil and have difficulty taking it. This cream is a topical solution!

FAQs

Q: Who can safely use Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream is safe for anyone all ages and stages of life, including while pregnant and breastfeeding. The ingredients in Vitamin D Cream are even safe to use on dogs.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has much lower vitamin D than oral supplements; why?

A: We don’t normally recommend high-dose supplementation because the body can only absorb so much at once. Most conventional supplements are filled with mega-dosed synthetic formulas and are harder to absorb. Contrarily, studies have found topical vitamin D is absorbed best.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has more vitamin A than vitamin D; why is that?

A: The natural source used to make our Vitamin D Cream just so happens to be high in vitamin A as well.

Q: What does Vitamin D Cream smell like?

A: Some people find Vitamin D Cream has no smell, some find it smells strongly of fish, and others find it varies from batch to batch. If you find the smell of Vitamin D Cream unpleasant, you can melt it down and add essential oils to mask the smell. If you add essential oils, we recommend avoiding citrus essential oils to avoid phototoxicity.

Q: How should I apply Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream can be applied anytime, even before sun exposure. Simply rub 1/2 – 1 teaspoon on the thighs, stomach, or other fat-rich body parts.

Q: How should store Vitamin D Cream?

A: We recommend storing Vitamin D Cream in a cool, dark place. Some people store it in the refrigerator, but it becomes a very firm consistency due to the cold temperature.

Q: I bought Vitamin D Cream, and there are little beads in it; is that normal?

A: Yes. The white beads are stearic acid, a naturally-occurring fatty acid found in several butters and oils. When we make products, we heat them to a certain temperature, blend them, then rapidly cool them. If it cools too slowly or melts in transit and slowly cools again, the stearic acid can form into small to medium white beads. To fix this, you can remelt the product, stir it, and then rapidly cool it in the fridge.

I am vitamin D deficient and also wanted to boost my kids’ immunity, and this has been the perfect solution. We all love it! I am also excited to have found a different way to take cod liver oil. Overall love this product!

  2. Katlynne Tekurio (verified owner)

It is definitely a fishy smell. It does get on clothes a bit too which I don’t care for. But I love this option for kids instead of orally. We started adding a calming essential oil to it to help with the smell.

  3. Danielle Slagle (verified owner)

This was one of the things in my very first order I just made. I suck at remembering to give my daughter drops or taking pills myself so this makes my life so much easier! I rubbed it on my kids this morning with no problem & they didn’t even ask any questions. I love it! I’m hooked and will definitely order more.

  4. Nicole (verified owner)

Amazing cream! I was so happy to come across this product while looking around the Earthley site. Being a mom of three very little ones makes it hard to remember to take supplements and vitamins whether they’re pills or tinctures and I just love that this is made in a cream form. It makes it so easy to rub into my toddlers and baby’s skin and I know that it’s improving their health and helping to prevent sickness! I can do it when they’re doing anything – playing, eating, crawling, sleeping… whereas giving them any other form of vitamins before was a much more difficult process. Thank you Earthley for such a great product that truly makes my life better and easier!

  5. Stephanie Briles (verified owner)

Love this product! The whole family can use it. It’s easy to apply and has no smell at all. Highly recommend!

  6. Rebecca Sharp (verified owner)

I like this formulation of Vitamin d. The smell isn’t so bad, but I do notice a lingering smell in my clothes. I try to apply at night with the goodnight lotion for best absorption.

  7. Nicole Jenkins (verified owner)

I love using this for days we don’t get out into the sunshine as much as I would like. It does have a slight fishy smell to me, so I tend to put in on my thighs or stomach, where my skin is covered, and add a drop of lavender oil to it. Sometimes I’ll put it on an hour before i bath my baby so that it had plenty of time to soak in. It’s w great texture.

  8. Vicki (verified owner)

Have been using for about 2 weeks. There is no fishy smell. Have been very pleased.

  9. Abigail Crowe (verified owner)

I have no idea why I never thought of topical vitamin D before seeing this product but I’m totally into this! I rub it on my belly &/or butt usually since they’re fatty and post partum bellies benefit from these oils too. It’s a win-win. I apply this a few times a week and then I apply organic virgin coconut oil on the rest of my body. Smells fine even with the cod liver oil. Great product!

  10. Nelly Grezhdieru (verified owner)

I switched my breastfed baby for the drops to this cream and it’s great I put it on him before bed the only thing I’m noticing is it’s a little strong scent for me I feel like all of his clothes smell like this cream.

  11. Suzette (verified owner)

It’s nice having a vitamin in a cream, less pills and easy to use for the whole family. It does have a very slight smell but only noticeable if I purposely smell the container.

  12. Natalya Brown (verified owner)

I love this, it absorbs super quickly when I apply it to my thighs before bed after a shower, and it doesn’t have a fishy smell. Definitely better than taking a pill!!

  13. Chantal McDougal (verified owner)

Not a hug fan of the smell or the greasiness of this but it’s a great product and I love the idea of absorbing vitamin D through the skin.

  14. Allison Zaidle (verified owner)

Love this cream, my son hates taking medicine. But with this he always asks for his vitamin lotion. Was hesitant on buying since reviews said it had a awful smell. But we don’t notice a smell at all, goes on very easy!!

  15. Jenn (verified owner)

I purchased the Vit D Cream prior to last winter season. I have several autoimmune issues that cause my body not to absorb a lot of nutrients that I need. I feel that this cream has been an added benefit to help replenish my Vit D. It has a good texture and doesn’t seem greasy but it does have an ‘odd’ smell. I am not certain if the smell is that noticeable, but I use the product at bedtime and haven’t noticed any lingering scent. This is a great clean product to have on hand.

  16. Debbie Runfolo (verified owner)

Who doesn’t need more vitamin D? So excited that it is in cream form for better absorption. I do not find this cream fishy smelling at all. Part of my morning regiment

  17. Angela Mangrum (verified owner)

Pros – This product works great for getting vitamin D. My numbers were low & after using this regularly they were much better. I’d give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the smell! It it awful! So, Cons -Because of the bad smell, I used it at night & rubbed it on my inner thighs then put on old sweatpants to cover the oder. The smell won’t come out of the pants, so make sure you wear something you don’t mind being ruined. I’ll definitely continue to use this cream, just wish it wasn’t so offensive to my nose! Lol

  18. Melissa Wheeler (verified owner)

This cream has become part of our bed time routine. I put a pea sized amount on the kids and about double that for myself and husband. I’m so thankful to have a non synthetic option for our vitman D because with the smoke from wild fires and temperatures in the 100s we just don’t get outside as much as I would like. This is a great way to add a little extra vitman D.

  19. Trisha (verified owner)

Love this cream! My Vit D levels have always been low. I started using this in Dec and 2 months later I had bloodwork done and my vitamin D levels were normal!! I was so surprised and very thankful to have found this cream. Mine doesn’t smell fishy at all. I use with the good night lotion too.

  20. Amanda (verified owner)

Love, love this Vitamin D cream! I use it daily! I’ve gone thru 3 containers so far and none have had a bad smell, which I was worried about! I’m very sensitive to smells.
