I really wanted to like this shampoo bar, but it’s just not for me. My hair just becomes a greasy mess the longer I use this. After trying for a couple of weeks I finally threw in the towel and went back to using my shampoo. I think it might be a good option for those with dry hair, but not for oily to normal hair.

First and foremost I found the shipping of the product to be very fast, my order was filled the next day. Now for the product, it is wonderful. I thought it would be weird to use a bar of soap but it is easy for me, even with my thick mane, to lather from roots to end. It left my hair while wet feeling a little dry but once my hair dried it felt extremely soft and manageable. The scent is nice and subtle. After 2 uses I’ve noticed my scalp is less flakey and itchy. I’m glad I found a product that is chemical free and affordable.

My husband likes it and uses it a couple times a week. I gave it a good try (2 weeks) and ended up switching back to my “regular” shampoo (which gets a 2 from EWG so I wasn’t really looking for another shampoo). My hair is straight and fine and on the oily side. At first, I just thought my hair needed some time to adjust but since I don’t use products in it I figured it wouldn’t take long. My hair felt like it had a sticky residue left after washing with this bar. It lathered nicely but never felt like it rinsed out completely. After about a week I added a diluted ACV rinse and that helped some but still wasn’t great. I wasn’t willing to add the extra step and hassle for results that weren’t great.

I’m sure this is a wonderful product, if you don’t color your hair. When I tried, not knowing it’s not good for colored hair, it made my hair very heavy and nearly impossible to comb out after washing it. I then found out not to use it on treated hair – it’s designed to get your hair back to it’s natural, healthy state. If I ever decide to go with my natural color (gray), I’ll give this another try.

I can’t speak for the scented version and am unsure if there is a big difference or not, but I bought the unscented bar since the other kind wasn’t in stock. I was at my wit’s end trying to find a ‘natural’ shampoo that doesn’t make my hair look greasy in the end. I really gave this shampoo bar a good try…. I have long thin/fine hair and not only is it hard to get my hair sudsy all the way through with this bar, no matter how I go about washing OR rinsing (I swear I’ve rinsed my hair as much as is possible!) – it ALWAYS leaves the ends of my hair with a weird greasy/wet looking residue, AND within 12-24 hours of using the shampoo, the rest of my hair starts to look greasy and wet – even at the roots. I’m so disappointed this didn’t work out for me.

I LOVE this shampoo bar. It is my first time using a shampoo bar. I have been using a couple of different natural shampoos for several years. The latest one was a nice organic one from my salon, but it was soooo pricey. It was working well, though and I was afraid to try anything else for fear that it would mess up what I had going. We also had been using Earthley’s Leave-in Conditioner spray for one of my daughters and we loved that. It is amazing stuff. So I figured we’d give the shampoo bar a try since I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from Earthley and I really couldn’t afford the salon shampoo anymore. I have been impressed with this shampoo bar since the very first wash. My two young daughters and I all use it and the Leave-in Conditioner spray. It really does clean well and keeps my scalp happt and balanced. I have used it for 3 or 4 washes now (for me that’s 2-3 weeks). It really has helped me go longer between washings. My hair is smoother and less drizzy. All of us girls find our hair easier to brush/comb. I highly recommend this product. And, great bonus….it smells amazing!
